YOUR SELF WORTH AND HOW TO BOOST IT

YOUR SELF WORTH AND HOW TO BOOST IT

When identity is not known, self worth is lost.

Self worth is hinged on self identity, self understanding and self acceptance.

Self identity helps to unveil your possibilities and your realities. What happens here is a mind-shift.

When you don't know who you are, you will answer to anything people call you. You are subject to ridicule and all manner of dirts thrown in your direction.

A man who has no identity is faceless, unrecognizable and can't be reckoned with.

You must belong to a tribe, you must be called by a name.

So, if I may ask, who are you? When you are asked who you are, how do you respond. Apart from the name your father gave you, who are you? Apart from the work you do, who are you?

Who defines you? Your father/mother? Your job/career? Your past experiences? Your friends? The people around you?

Nope! None of the above does. If you have accepted all that the above call you, you are yet to start living.

A man starts living the day he finds his true identity. The day he finds his own convictions, not influenced by what any other person say or think, but what he has seen with his own eyes and his hands have handled.

I love the confidence with which John the beloved puts this:πŸ‘‡

"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched-thus we proclaim  concerning the Word of life." (1 John 1:1).

Confidence of this sort finds expression through a man who has found his identity.

So, your past failures does not define you. Your friends can't define you because they don't know you.

The One who defines you is God.
He knew you even before you were conceived in the womb.

So, who are you? The book of Ephesians 1 has done justice to this.

Vs 3: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

1. I am blessed

Vs 4-5: "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will."

2. I am Chosen
3. I am Loved
4. I am a Son

Vs 7: "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."

5. I am redeemed
6. I am forgiven

Vs 13b: "..When you believed, you were marked  in him with a seal,  the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession- to the praise of his glory."

7. I am sealed with the Holy Spirit
8. I am God's possession

So, who are you?

You are what the word of God says you are.

Speak forth nowπŸ—£πŸ—£πŸ—£

I cast down every imagination that is not of God.

I cast down every high thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of God.

I bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

I embrace what the word of God calls me.

I am who God says I am.

I cancel every negative self-talk.

I am a Son, no longer a slave.

I am a woman of great worth.

I am not weak and beggarly.

The Holy Spirit is my advantage.

What just happened now is a mind-shift.

As earlier said, self-worth is hinged on self identity.

Self-Worth is a direct measure of how you value and regard yourself in spite of what others may say or do.

Self identity influences your self-perception, how you perceive yourself is the weight of your self worth and these will achieve in you self-confidence.

Self IdentityπŸ‘‰Self PerceptionπŸ‘‰Self worthπŸ‘‰Self Confidence.

Self confidence, having confidence in the ability of God in you.

Self worth is achieved when we begin to live in the reality of who we are. Your attitude changes, your words changes.

Your consistency in the above will make people around you to perceive and see your worth. It will be obvious that you are different from the same person they saw yesterday.

How to boost your self worth...

Firstly, you need to keep affirming and confessing what the word of God says concerning you.

Secondly, you were not saved just to go to heaven, if that were so, God ought to have taken your life the day you got born again.

"The LORD has kept the heavens for himself, but he has given the earth to us humans." Psalm 115:16

God has placed us here to take over the Seven Mountains of influence on earth. The Mountain of Education, Media, Arts and Entertainment, Religion, Government, Family, Business.

Hence, we need to discover the specific purpose of God for our lives and fulfil it. We must die empty. We must use all the talents and graces God has deposited in us.

I am going in this direction because how much value you can offer determines your worth and impact in your generation.

Yes, you are filled with the Holy Ghost and you pray in tongues, you have studied the word of God back to back, but your world will fill your impact when you begin to proffer solution to problems.

In fact, that is when glory is ascribed to God, that men can see God's love through your impacts in whatever area of life God will have you planted.

So, as believers, the Holy Spirit is our advantage and He comes to dwell in us at new birth to lead us in the direction of God's predetermined purpose for us.

"But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and will bring to your remembrance all the things which I have said to you". John 14:26.

Give the Holy Spirit room in your life. Submit to Him by obeying His instructions promptly. Don't be discouraged by what you are passing through or what you have passed through.

Gold went through fire before coming out shining. God is preparing you for something great. Trust and obey.

"Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Cor 1:4

We have overcome for greater is He that lives in us.

A woman of God wrote, "You can never get rid of your own troubles unless you take upon yourself the troubles of others."

"When you dig a man out of trouble, the hole which is left is the grave where you bury your own sorrows."

In a simpler form, look at this illustration. Ronke needs money, So, she thinks in her heart, what can I do to solve the problem of others. OK, I will learn how to sew. As she helps people to sew their clothes they pay her, that is also how it is with spiritual things.

So, add value to yourself, read wide, broaden your horizon, read books that will grow you. Grow!

Success doesn't just happen, it will cost you something.

Be diligent in your assignment, be optimistic, no matter what comes. Be helpful to others. Make a great effort always to give somebody a lift whenever possible. Radiate sunshine, scatter flowers as you go along.

Proverbs 22:29, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”

I call you blessed!
