THERE MUST BE A ROOTING OUT OF THINGS WE CHERISH
 BY ADEDIRE ADEKANBI

“The man wo has God for his treasure, has all things in one. Whatever he may lose he has actually lost nothing, for he now has it all in one and he has it purely, legitimately and forever” A. W. TOZER

Until your love is void of attachment to things, you may not enjoy the fullness of God's provision for you. Your love must be made pure, free of every contaminant, be it things or person.

Most of the times, the love we claim to have for God is perverse, hinging on so many factors deeply seated in our hearts. We are given out to things! Its easier to proclaim God's faithfulness when we have all we need at our beck and call.

God is so jealous that he want to enter into the temple of our hearts and be enthroned, but then so many things which we have allowed are competing with God over this throne. Things in which we have security and we are more than afraid to let go.

When God realized the unclean love of Abraham for Isaac, and that Isaac had become a priority in his heart, he had to reset Abraham’s spiritual concept of love. He made him go through a test of faith (an authentic test of true love) and thank God he didn’t fail. If he failed, God would have found his own man.

What are your fears? In what do you have hope? On what have you built your confidence? Your marriage, parents, job, fiance, son, money, beauty, friends, eloquence, gift? All must be uprooted for us to know God more intimately.

There must be a rooting out of things we have cherished for so long, letting go and letting God be enthroned.

When you have God, you have it all in one. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all other things shall be added onto you.

Remain blessed!
