WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR ATTENTION, YOU CHANGE YOUR DIRECTION BY ADEDIRE ADEKANBI

The NIV version records that when he saw the wind, he was afraid and beginning to sink cried out, which means he paid no attention to the wind initially. He acted out on Jesus’ command, he kept his focus and gaze on Jesus. But shifting his focus put an end to the process and he went right down but for Jesus.

Many started out on God's word, full of faith and expectations, eyes fixed on Jesus, but as at today sinking. Oh! That is not far fetched. When you change your attention, you change your direction., and changing your direction is automatically changing your instructor.

You started in the power of God’s might and maybe the wind is becoming boisterous, challenges that seem beyond you are arising, you are becoming weak in faith, and settling down for the less is one of the thoughts crowding your mind. You are no longer trusting Jesus to help you through (though you never said it but your actions are speaking volumes).

If God gave the vision, then you need Him to fulfill it. Now this the best time to pray and not faint. Remember, if you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! All you need is a new revelation.

You started out with just one goal, to draw men unto God and not to yourself, but as at today that is no longer your focus. People now know you more than they know your God. You are not aware that just like Saul, the mantle is being taken away and you are sinking already.

With this way your are going, you are only heading for just one thing, the rock

Please, don’t let this be a dead end for you, cry out like Peter did, “Lord save me”. Redirect your focus back to God. Let him grasp you and in his infinite mercy wash you. 

You have indeed gone too far but not that far for God to grasp you.

For we are in his hands!
