YOU ARE TO CONTEND, NOT BLEND BY ADEDIRE ADEKANBI

Now that we are saved, let us contend for the faith that was once given unto the saint. The fact that we are told to contend reveals that there is an opposing force wanting to make our faith of non-effect. A crippled soldier cannot contend, the force of attack must be greater than the opposing force.

To contend, your feet must have a good grip on the ground of convictions and assertiveness, the word of God is a sure foundation, you must be sure of the ground you are standing upon. You don’t see a soldier trying to guess which party he belongs to on the battle ground. The truth is, there are so many forces battling against our soul wanting us to bow just like the experience of Jesus.

You see many people are indifferent when it comes to contending for the faith, they are not here and they are not there, or should I say that they are contented with nominal Christianity, that they don’t see the reason to contend for anything.

 Well, these set of people also have their portion, they are the set of people that the horses of war will trample upon, we will not be able to trace their bearing to cross.

They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted, twice dead. Why is your cloud gathering without the intention of bringing forth rain? Why are your leaves green, yet without viable fruit? 

Why are you looking like it when you are not exactly like it? There is no sitting on the fence, we must be able to see with substantial evidences that you are in Christ indeed.

We are tired of talkers, empty analyst, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. They talk evangelism, but don’t evangelize. They are the light of their Church, not the light of the world. They have unbelievers around them, but they are less concerned.

Until you see yourself as a soldier of Christ and walk into that reality, you may never see the need to contend and you will remain on the list of those waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.

We are constantly waging war against the world, against sin and against the devil. Guard your salvation jealously. Have it at the back of your mind that not all will stand, but if it’s just one man that will stand, let it be YOU!

You are to contend not blend!
