TOGETHER WE STAND

Image
𝐓𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃 By Joy Titobiloluwa Adekanbi  Going down memory lane, English language used to be a boring subject. The essays and grammar made it worse. What’s with the comprehension passages and summary? Yet we had to pass it.  We needed to because it was compulsory to pass a subject that was about a language imposed on us by the very people who enslaved us.  We got our independence from them but kept their language as ours.  Well, with a country like ours, we don’t have much of a choice. About 250 ethnic groups living together in one hood isn’t a joke.  How else would we communicate? The decision to use a single language negates what God did at the Tower of Babel. We are struggling to maintain unity among people of different languages who have refused to be one because of the fear of being betrayed. English which is supposed to be a unifying factor has brought about discrimination among different social classes.  This discrimination exists within each ethnic group a

GRACE

Image
GRACE By Joy Titobiloluwa Adekanbi God loves us so much and there is no length He wouldn’t go to prove this. He sent His only son who is full of grace and truth to set us free from the shackles of the enemy of our souls. . . We have access to grace through faith in Christ Jesus and this is our leverage over the enemy.  . . God is able to make all grace come in abundance to us, so that we may always have complete sufficiency in everything and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity 2Cor 9:8AMP.  . . The grace of God is the medium through which we can do any good work. Leaders who want to do good works for others can only do so by the grace of God through faith in God. . . The solution to the malaise we are plagued with in our country Nigeria is that we have leaders who want to do good works but who don’t have faith in God. . . Even in this situation we have found ourselves, children of God have a leverage. We enjoy the grace of God through our faith in God. We trust a G

ANGER

Image
ANGER . . No one can upset us without our permission. Many times unknowingly we give room for others to manipulate us and then we get angry when they do. . . When we put our trust in humans instead of God and they let us down, we get angry.  . . When we get angry at times, it is not about what someone did. It is about who did it. If any other person had done it, it wouldn’t have meant much but because the person who did it did it we get angry. . . The anger directed at the person who let us down makes us bitter and affect our relationship with others.  . . Others get to pay for the sins of someone they have never met and they too get angry and a vicious cycle continues. . . Why not place our trust in God who cannot fail and who would never go back on his promises. . .  When we place men in the position of God and see them as our all in all, they occupy a position in our hearts and influences us in ways that we cannot fathom. . . Humans will always be humans and God will always be God.

FEAR

Image
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐑 Fear comes with guilt. It is the product of our inability to do that which we know is right. Fear comes with condemnation, the knowledge that we have just committed a sin.  Fear comes when the devil deceives us that our sin is too big for God to forgive. Is that not why Jesus came to die? It is quite illogical for anyone to think there is a sin that cannot be forgiven.  “Come now and let us reason together,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool Isaiah 1:18. Fear comes when we are ignorant of the power in the resurrection of Christ. When we are oblivious to what He procured through His death on the cross. God says these signs will accompany those who have believed: in my name they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues. They will pick up serpents and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well Mar

LAZINESS

Image
𝗟𝗔𝗭𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 It eats deeply into our minds the moment we presume that life will never end. We think we can always do it tomorrow, so we postpone what we should do today. What if tomorrow never comes. . . . What if we wake up one day and face the reality of what should have been but never was because we failed to value what we had but have now lost. . . . Tick tock says the clock and every minute counts. The little ones of yesterday have now become adults. A reality we refused to see because we lived in an illusion of instant gratification, the lie of many second chances, the thought that there is still time. . . . No wonder we while away time, thinking there will always be another chance to make things right. The right thing is left undone, while we focus on the things that will make us feel undone. . . . The resources we have today but fail to use may not suffice when we eventually realize that time has gone. . . . "𝙉𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖

GUILT

Image
GUILT By Joy Titobiloluwa Adekanbi Guilt is the greatest tool the enemy of our souls uses to enslave we the children of God in our minds. . . . There is constantly a decision to make. We make thousands of decisions every day. The choice of what, where, how and when to do what. . . The devil, being a deceiver is constantly reminding us of why we do not deserve what. You say you want to live above sin, he says what about the one you did yesterday. . . He comes with another reason why he thinks what you did yesterday cannot be erased. But we know better. Jesus died once and for all and He says we are the righteousness of God in Christ. . . But here comes the devil who knows he has been condemned and wants companions on his journey. The devil says are you sure He died, were you there? Jesus gave the answer on our behalf before He left (ascended). He says cheer up, have faith, I have overcome the world. . . So when the enemy advances, we take up our shield of faith. When i

THE MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB

Image
THE MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB By Joy Titobiloluwa Adekanbi The Bible says the life of the flesh is in the blood, therefore the life of Jesus is in His blood. Jesus, the lamb of God who took away the sin of the world. When His blood atoned for our sins, it empowered us to live the kind of life that Jesus lived. When His blood was shed, there was an exchange. We exchanged our life of sin, sorrow, lack and frustration for His life so that we become children of God. The life of a child of God is a life of freedom, blessings and salvation. The quality of our physical and that of our social life depend on the quality of our spiritual life. One aspect of our physical life is our health. Our social life includes our thinking pattern, behaviour and our relationship with others. Jesus entered into a covenant with God on our behalf through the shedding of His blood on the cross of calvary to save us from sin and its consequences. He literally gave us His life. We are married to the person or thing we

VICTORY IS ASSURED

Image
VICTORY IS ASSURED The Bible says we should be as wise as serpents but as gentle as a dove.  The Holy spirit descended on Jesus like a dove at His baptism after God confirmed him as his son in whom He is well pleased. The word of God says that without the baptism of water and of the spirit, we cannot enter into the kingdom of God John 3:5.  The water signifies the word of God and the baptism of the Holy spirit comes with the EVIDENCE of speaking in tongues. The baptism of the Holy spirit makes us as gentle as a dove. In essence, the Holy spirit regulates our temperament and gives us direction as to what to do per time. The baptism of the water by his WORD makes us as wise as serpents.  The word of God which is the truth sets us free from Ignorance John 8:32. It exposes the lies of the Devil. Now we the soldiers of Jesus Christ know how to win the war against the enemy of our souls. God has equipped us with the necessary requirements to overcome challenges, trials and tribulations in ev

GRATITUDE

Image
𝔾ℝ𝔸𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕌𝔻𝔼 By Joy Titobiloluwa Adekanbi He has set a table before us in the presence of the enemy. The enemy of our souls. He has anointed us with oil, the oil of gladness. Therefore our cup overflows. . . The cup signifies a medium with which we are blessed and a medium through which God blesses others. . . The size of our cup depends on how well we are yielded to God and His will for our lives.  . . Our level of submission determines how big the size of our cup .This submission on our part will bless us and others around us.  . . The size of our cup determines the level of mercy we receive. The level of mercy we give determines the level of help we receive.  . . The level of help we receive should dictate the amount of help we give. This is because the size of the cup depends on our action anyways.  . . This is actually what God meant when He said Abraham shall be blessed and He shall be a blessing. His faith and yieldedness to God determined how much He was blessed and how ma

WATCH YOUR GATE

Image
𝙒𝘼𝙏𝘾𝙃 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙂𝘼𝙏𝙀📍 The gate not well kept can lead a woman into captivity. Infact many young ladies are caged today because they left their gate perpetually opened. . . You may be wondering what we are talking about when you see "watch your gate".  . . A gate simply means a hinged barrier used to close an opening in a wall, fence, or hedge. The essence of it is to keep a house or city out of the reach of Intruders or Invaders.  . . One of the major gateways to the life of women is their private parts. Many for the perpetual looseness of their laps have ended up a cheap prey in the hands of purposeless men.  . . Many married women don't see this as a bad way of life as some sleep about in the street

SHYNESS IS NOT HUMILITY

Image
𝗦𝗛𝗬𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 By Joy Titobiloluwa Adekanbi God said He is able to make all grace abound unto us so that in all things, at all times, having all that we need, we may abound in every good work.  . . We are a royal priesthood, we are his special possession. Anyone who doesn’t recognize this is shy. Anyone who doesn’t believe this is not His child.  . . . . As much as children of God are meek and lowly because He is meek and lowly, we must realize that we are royalty because He is King. . . . God said we should be merciful as He is merciful. To be humble is to be merciful. Whoever is not merciful is not humble. Lowliness and meekness is not shyness.  . . . Shyness is performing below your potential. Shyness is not recognizing the ability of God that is resident in you. . . . If you are a child of God, you have the spirit of God in you. If God resides in you but you don’t recognize the God in you, you are not a child of God. You are not humble, you are proud. W

THE BLESSEDNESS OF THE KING

Image
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 By Joy Titobiloluwa Adekanbi The one who came into the world to save us had to be baptized by one of us. Baptized by one of whom He came to save. Jesus, who came to bless us with salvation also had to be blessed by someone.  . . . . He was a carpenter, He had customers. He was an apprentice, He had a boss. He learnt a trade, He paid his dues. He paid tax, He preached. He healed the sick and He performed miracles. He was a son and a brother to someone.  . . . Jesus multi-tasked. He was as human as we are. He earned the position of Sonship by fulfilling the requirements of God. If He fulfilled his purpose at 30, whoever said life begins at 40 should think again. . . Human philosophies are not always right. Things don’t always go the way we expect. The more reason we should always rely on Him who has it all and yet gave it all to get us out of destruction. He was as human as we can be. . . . Look unto Him, the author and the finisher of o

LIFE, AN UNCERTAIN ADVENTURE

Image
LIFE, AN UNCERTAIN ADVENTURE  -by Joy Titobiloluwa Adekanbi How humbling the fact that we cannot always predict accurately what would happen in the next minute. Humanity even with our wealth of knowledge, skill, willpower and intelligence do not have all the answers.  This brings us to staggering realization of how limited we are despite how creative and imaginative God has created us to be. Sometimes we feel we are enough, at other times we feel so unsure, doubting our abilities and wondering if we have what it takes to deal with a situation we are faced with.  Don’t you think life would be perfect if we all had super powers with which we could predict the future and control the outcome of any given situation?   How about having a friend with such powers that we could always consult and who is always available to help us? The Bible revealed that God is all-knowing, all-powerful and an ever-present help in trouble and while life is an adventure, we get to choose who we hang out with on
