SISTERS, STOP THIS PHARISAIC APPROACH TO LIFE
 BY ADEDIRE ADEKANBI

I await a time, when a sister writes out a list of potential husbands and brings the list to the man of God for prayers and the Man of God in turn ask the sister, “What have you received from God personally”.

Honestly, ask such people why they are here, you will realize their cluelessness transcends beyond that list and has a root stemming from lack of direction in life. Then, you can start counseling from the beginning.

A stop must come to this Pharisaic approach  to life and destiny which we take with levity because we are not ready to take up responsibility.

Any kind of faith that makes God totally responsible for everything is an irresponsible kind of faith.

Why put burdens on pastors when you can’t even lift it with a finger. Mathew 23:18 says “They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them”. Stop this approach already!

A man of God should confirm what you have already received, not give you a first hand information on who you are to marry. Going to Pastor clueless and ready to swallow anything you hear is a litmus test that you don’t have a focus, any way is the right way for you.

You can stay glued to the TV, laptop, or phones from 12am to 4am, but you cannot pray from 12am to 1am. You can organize your day well in order to go see a movie, maybe “BLACK PANTA”, like my girls jokingly call it here, but you can’t create time for the word, no time to pray extensively over crucial issues in your life.

You are at peace because you have a mother who holds your hand and pull you to some prophets for special prayers. You are 20 years already and you can’t successfully pray on your own without special monitoring.

This way of life is peculiar to weaklings, those who have made up their minds to be overpowered by the battles of life and are ready to dance to whatever tune life is playing.

Yes, this set of sisters are not ready for a distinctive life, but to remain amidst the crowd and do what they see every other person doing.

You can't be committed to frivolities and expect the results of a serious minded Christian, who commits herself to growth and gives priority to her relationship with God.

Ask God for help.........
